Strathalbyn Storm is the junior development program of the Strathalbyn and District Basketball Association; and also coordinates senior teams for the Senior Country Championships.
The program caters for players from U12s to U18s and is focused on improving each athlete’s skill in a fun and comfortable environment. If there is an opportunity to introduce an U10s and/or U23s team at a carnival, this will be considered by the Storm Committee. The program is open to all interested Strathalbyn and District Basketball Association athletes who:
- Want to improve their skills and understanding of the game
- Want to play at the highest local level possible, representing Strathalbyn Storm against other country associations around the State.
- Want to be exposed to some of the best coaching both the District and the State has to offer.
The Storm program caters for athletes of all skill levels. If you are willing to work hard and give it a go then you are most welcome to be a part of Strathalbyn Storm.
Strathalbyn Storm also caters for people keen to get into coaching and refereeing, with a comprehensive coach mentor and development program, along with participating in the Basketball SA referee program.
Strathalbyn Storm teams participate in numerous state-wide tournaments, before concluding with the SA Country Junior Basketball Championships.
All junior Storm athletes are required to participate in the summer program of the Strathalbyn and District Basketball Association.
